Today we hopped on the Senior Citizen tram ... aka the bus and ventured forth. We headed to yet another wonderful treasure of San Diego - Balboa Park, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary. We truly appreciate being able to stroll through the beautiful gardens, view the wonderful architecture and visit the many varied galleries, exhibits and museums. Although we have been here a few times in prior years it never grows old. We spent the better part of 6 hours just enjoying the grounds.

After our excursion to Balboa park we hopped back on the bus for the return trip home. Glad we were taking public transportation as it was rush hour and traffic was a bit brutal; after all San Diego has a population of a 1,000,000+. As it was past supper time, we stopped at one of our favorite eateries - 710 restaurant and had a beer and some Buffalo chicken wings which were pretty close to what we would get in New York. People watching from our perch at the open window always proves interesting. We were going to walk the one mile home from the restaurant - which is near Crystal Pier but our timing was good and we caught the bus. Stopped at Albertson's and picked up a few staples including some "Black Velvet"(great sale!!) and sweet vermouth not sure what Sue has planned with that combo of beverage but I think it will keep us mellow for a few evenings. Walked home and settled in for the evening. Another great day in sunny San Diego. Tomorrow the beach.
