We started off the day early by catching the 7:40 bus by our condo to go to Christine's for the day. The other day while at Albertson's we got our 30 day passes for $18 and that will be our major means of transportation for the month along with walking and biking. Chris is home for the long weekend. We know that she just wanted to spend Valentine's Day with us. Ha Ha! After a second bus ride and short walk we got to Chris and Jason's around 9:00. Chris, Kana (her maid of honor) and I had hair appointments this morning at Salon Ink.

Chris tried out a look that she might use for the wedding. After our pampering at the salon we went to the Patio for a delicious brunch. Meanwhile Jason and Ron went to the movies - The Imitation Game - and lunch. At 1:00 Chris had an appointment to try on wedding dresses. It was so nice to be able to be here for this and such an appropriate Valentine's Day activity.

From there we took Kana home and sat and visited in the pretty gardens behind her apartment. We even got the chance to meet her Mom who is visiting from Victoria, British Columbia. During our travels we saw many of the different areas in San Diego such as Mission Hills, Hillcrest and University Heights.

After that we went home to meet the guys. Then we went on another wedding expedition and visited the Lafayette Hotel. As you can imagine it was busy for Valentine's Day with a wedding and other events, so I'll get some pictures on Monday. We got a chance to see where the ceremony, cocktails and reception would be held. We wanted to see some rooms also but they were all occupied so we will return on Monday for that. Jason's Improv Group is located in the back of the Lafayette Hotel.
Chris drove us to 5:30 Mass at St. Brigid's while Jason cooked supper for her. We really like this church which is only about 1/2 mile from our condo. This mass was the contemporary guitar mass and the music and singing were delightful. For Valentine's Day they also had the married couples stand for a renewal of their vows - it was really nice. Walked home from church and spent a quiet evening in the condo.
