San Diego - Day 4, 2015

The beautiful weather just keeps on coming. Another lazy day at the beach for us.  Ron has vowed to not gain too much weight during this winter sojourn.  So he ran from our beach site at Tourmaline down to Crystal pier and back.(2 miles)  I think he is also duly impressed - as witnessed with his stiff neck - with the bevy of bikini clad ladies who are taking advantage of the unseasonably warm weather that has graced San Diego this winter.(just kiddin' ... he's been wearing blinders.)  Maybe it's just us trying to get our heads around the fact that our friends and family are enduring temperatures in the negative numbers while we bask in some incredible weather.  If it balances the scales of justice a little we see that for the next 10 days or so the temps will only be in the high 60's...brrrrr.  The beach is definitely the place to be.  We typically read but people watching, watching the surfers and sailboats and walking fill our beach time.

We have decided to stay around Pacific Beach while Chris is in town. She leaves early Tuesday morning so she can be in Sacramento in time for work. They had some friends to visit and Jason had improv practice so our plan was for them to come to our place at 7 to do dinner in PB.

We didn't realize though that the Saturday Night Live special was starting at 7 here and we were all of the same mind that we didn't want to miss it. Pizza became the dinner of choice since we could have it delivered and not miss any of the SNL skits. It was a great evening of laughs as we all are fans of the show and we enjoyed so many of the comic memories from year's past.

Steve Martin - Ron has been told by numerous people - usually strangers -  that he looks like Steve!
PS On the way back from the beach and another stop at Albertson's food store I got stung by a bee behind my ear.  How strange to get a bee sting in February?!
