San Diego - Day 7 - February 18, 2015

Trying to establish some good habits so we started our day at the exercise room again. Then after cleaning up we took a leisurely 8 mile bike ride along the boardwalk, past Belmont Park along Mission Beach returning via Mission Blvd which runs parallel to the beach.

We made numerous stops along the way. First we stopped to get ashes.  Couldn't believe it but we came across a priest giving ashes on the boardwalk - of course he was Episcopalian but Ron said that it was Catholic light and close enough. We definitely knew we were in California at that point.

Then we stopped at a vacation rental agency checking out places to rent in November. Ron thinks that some people may want to rent at the beach instead of in town so he is doing some research. There are lots of beautiful places on or close by the beach.  Some are large enough to house our entire NY/NC wedding attending contingent or there are condos with fewer bedrooms that some families could share.   We went past Belmont Park but we didn't stop and do any rides this time.

Then we rode back to Garnet Street and down quite a few blocks to get an organic smoothie. Of course Ron used his unique skill of finding a BOGO coupon on an "Entertainment" app that the kids got for him at Christmas. Of course, all family wedding attendees will be welcome to use any of the "coupons" that may interest them when they visit in November.  By the time we got home we had ridden about 8 miles.

I definitely would like a softer bicycle seat - you would think I had enough padding - after all "I'm all about the bass"(not the fish Dad) - butt enough of that.  We came home and Ron and I made a simple meal of salad and crostini from left overs in the frig.

I'm not sure if we kept the Lenten spirit with the wine but it is National Drink Wine Day after all.

Will probably hit the hot tub tonight after the gym workout and biking. Not many pictures today as it is difficult to ride the bike, avoid hitting pedestrians, and take pictures at the same time. It certainly is nice being able to get out and be active and not have to hibernate.

While the condo has Roku with Netflix, I definitely miss having CBS and ESPN and some other channels. Tonight I am watching the Duke Carolina game on the iPad. GO DUKE!!! Sorry Danielle.
