San Diego - Day 26 - March 9, 2015

Decided we would try our hand at a new experience but when we got there they were closed on Monday. We'll let you know if we go ahead with it tomorrow instead. Hmm a mystery for our readers to think about?!?!  Did a combination bus / walking trip to Mission Bay.  Not being able to participate in our "secret bucket list" activity we spent the day at Mission Bay reading and enjoyed another nice day - not quite as warm - mid 60's - but beautiful just the same.

Views from Mission Bay

At 4:00 we headed to the Costa Brava, a Spanish restaurant and tapas bar that had been recommended to us by Adam - you remember we met him in the hot tub and he is from Syracuse. It is owned by a Spaniard and a few of the waiters are also from Spain. We had a pitcher of Sangria, a basket of bread, some boquerones or fried anchovies, a chorizo sandwich, and pollo al ajillo, chicken in a garlic sauce. It was very good and everything is half price during happy hour from 4 - 6. We walked away stuffed - it's getting to be a bad habit. I understand that they also have flamenco shows on Sunday - maybe some other time.

The Osborne Bull - if you've been to Spain you'll know this

Sangria makes us smile ... 3 glassfuls even more so.

Boqueron

They are proud of their World Championship

Looks like a typical Spanish bar

We'll have to start thinking about packing and getting ready to move on to Sacramento as we leave here Wednesday. Oh well, it's been a great time and we'll enjoy our last day to the fullest.

Beautiful evening walk home
