In the morning Ron worked out and I painted my nails and paid the bills. Not be deterred by a little rain we ventured out in mid-afternoon and decided to go to an all you can eat buffet restaurant for a lupper (lunch-supper). We did get a bit wet getting to and from bus stops and walking to the restaurant but the weather was still warm in the high 50's. We figure if it isn't white - it's ok. At this Great Plaza Buffet there was more than you can ever imagine eating. You couldn't even sample each item as there were too many choices. Stick with the meat ...right Dad? In fact I would dare say it was probably the most amazing buffet we'd ever seen. All kinds of sushi, salads, soups, Chinese and Japanese dishes, fish, mussels, shrimp and desserts galore X 100. I guess you would call this a gorge and after the senior discount it cost us $8.50!!! Needless to say we walked the 2+ miles back to the condo. burp. What's for dinner Sue? Nothing .. Good
Sushi
plate #1 of probably 4 or 5 platefuls.... the plates were small (as if that is some consolation)
We tried to walk some of the food off by walking down Garnet to the Crystal Pier, down to the end of the pier and then along Ocean Boulevard. It was at least 2 miles by the time we got home. Along the way we had beautiful views, stunning flowers and even an Everest sighting. It will probably be a quiet evening and tomorrow we will strike out again because there are still some places on our list to visit before we head to Sacramento and the weather is suppose to clear.
crystal pier.... 30 cottage located directly on the pier.
A threatening bank of clouds over the Pacific heading to San Diego. These missed us as it hasn't rained since 3:00PM
Does this guy get more gray each year?
looking southward
In November we'll be staying at a condo unit to the right of the tall condo unit one unit off the beach.
never tire of this view of the sun and the Pacific
Bougainvillea in bloom in February/March. Certainly sets off this property
An Everest look-alike. We'd like to believe ol' Everest retired to San Diego... who can blame him? Everest was Bob and Colleen's lab. And one of our favorite dogs.
